description
The "Willkomm", hand-painted and limited edition, is one of the earliest "key experiences" of the MEISSEN® manufactory. The work of art was made by Johann Jakob Irminger, one of the pioneers of porcelain design, and hand-painted with great attention to detail. Originally intended as a drinking goblet, the "Willkomm Schlüssel", limited edition, was verifiably passed around for the first time between Augustus the Strong and his entourage at Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen on April 21, 1714. Until 1864, this was the place where the "White Gold" was produced and the secret recipes of the MEISSEN® alchemists were kept. The artwork is hand-painted with Albrechtsburg Castle and the city view of Meissen. The painting was created based on a copperplate engraving by the artist Alexander Fiele from about 1726. The new edition of the magical work of art 's is limited to 75 pieces.
