This magnificent limited edition vase by Ernst August Leuteritz (1818-1893) from 1879 combines elements of European and Asian culture. The shape with handles made of winged Far Eastern dragons inspired porcelain painter Victoria Schmidt to decorate it in the style of Japanese Imari painting, and she created a true work of art in the process. One side of the vase is decorated, slightly modified, a phoenix, which the painter supplemented with a dragon in the style of the Meissen Ming dragon. Both mythical creatures are found in wedding traditions of ancient China.
Thus, this limited edition, hand-painted work of art is yet a perfect wedding gift and fits into any sophisticated interior design.
