description
In 1707, Johann Friedrich Böttger succeeded in producing a reddish-brown, very hard stoneware - the "fine rothe porcelain". On the Böttger bottle, porcelain painter Victoria Schmidt's hand-painted decoration harks back to the beginnings of the manufactory, when the dark material was to be refined by painting so that they looked like precious stones. Watercolors of flowers by the Scottish designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, one of the leading figures of the Art Nouveau movement of the late 19th century, served as her model. Thus, with the hand-painted bouquet of flowers, she once again succeeds in demonstrating the extraordinary craftsmanship of the MEISSEN® masters.
As part of the collection "Limited Edition", the production of the hand-painted bottle is limited to 25 copies.
