Limited Edition Buddha

In the early 18th century, European noble courts and their artists turned their attention to China, which at the time was synonymous with sophistication and luxury. From the very beginning, the art-loving Elector wanted to emulate the Asians. In 1708, he gave Johann Friedrich Böttger eight models of white Chinese figures as models for MEISSEN^® production. This group of figures included that of "Budhai Ho-Shang", the God of Contentment, which Böttger molded in white porcelain around 1713. Now the figure of the happy Buddha in the Limited Edition, this time with a more discreet gold decoration specially developed for it, celebrates its premiere again with the 11.5 cm high "Buddha" on the noble white MEISSEN^® porcelain.

As an expression of contentment, tranquility and perhaps also the joy of life, the figure fits with great certainty into any ambitious interior design.
