Exclusive Collection The Good Father

While Kaendler's small-scale sculptures reflect the representational lust and self-indulgent gallantry of courtly society, Michel Victor Acier opens up the emotional worlds of the aspiring bourgeoisie. His figure "Good Mother" (1774) became an icon of this new trend. A good ten years later, his pupil Johann Carl Schönheit created the paternal counterpart, the artwork "Good Father" - much more beautiful, inspiring and timeless than the discourses on bourgeois educational ideals of the time. The sculpture from the exclusive collection is elaborately hand-painted and shows a father playing devotedly with his children.
