Erich Oehme created the Panther figure in 1921 after being inspired by the sight of a cat. In what is probably his most popular model, the emphasis of the modeling is on strength and dynamism. With its black staffage, the panther stands for a rare and fascinating predator in the Amazon rainforest that needs to be protected. Under the motto "Make the world a better place", the MEISSEN porcelain manufactory wants to set an artistic example for the conservation of this unique animal world.
