description
The Amazon rainforest is home to countless animal and plant species, but it is a paradise that is under threat as never before due to deforestation, forest fires and climate change.
Under the motto "Make the world a better place", Meissen designer Lena Hensel captured fascinating motifs from the Brazilian Amazon on her canvas. In her search, she came across the hyacinth macaw, a blue parrot that is considered one of the most iconic symbols of Brazilian biodiversity. Using intense colors and a naturalistic painting style, she created the tropical habitat of this fascinating bird using various elaborate painting techniques. Two large specimens of the blue macaw dominate the scene amidst the countless shades of green of the rainforest, framed by lush palm trees and all kinds of other exotic plants.

These intelligent and extremely sociable animals have an impressive ability: they can learn to imitate sounds such as the human voice or the sounds of other animals. However, many animals in the region, including the blue macaw, are particularly endangered due to habitat destruction and illegal hunting. With the three-part mural series "Amazonas", the porcelain manufactory wants to set an artistic example for the conservation of this unique bird and its home.
