description
Ernst August Leuteritz' created this baroque, hand-painted decorated vase in masterful craftsmanship in 1860. Designed in the Second Rococo, it has its roots in the opulence and diverse formal language of the Meissen Baroque. The elaborate reliefs and acanthus curves covered in 24-karat gold are unmistakable expressions of the period. Contrast this with the hand-painted, delicate decoration of the vase as part of the limited reissue masterpieces from 2019: field pansies, the messengers of spring, as naturalistic painting. Since the mid-19th century, naturalistic flower painting has matured to the highest perfection as its own genre at Meissen and has been immortalized in ever new variations in the finest craftsmanship on porcelain. As a model for the limited edition and hand-painted decoration of field pansies, the flower painters used a nature study from the appendices of the 20th century, the artistic peak of impressionist flower painting in Meissen arts and crafts. A beautiful limited edition combination of two contrasting aesthetics in the form of a charming vase.
