Limited Masterworks Vase, Stylised Flower Painting

The flower and plant decorations in the Art Deco style that Emil Paul Börner designed for his vessels in the 1920s and 1930s are a highlight of MEISSEN^®'s decorative art. At the center of Börner's hand-painted vase are stylized flowers such as sunflowers, pansies or thistles, which the painter Ulrich Mehner applied to the still porous porcelain in bright blue, probably the most famous MEISSEN^® underglaze color. Thus, a beautiful limited edition work of art was created with this vase. The color sinks immediately into the still raw, unglazed body and develops its full luminosity and intensity only after glaze firing.
