description
With this magnificent sculpture from the MEISSEN® Exclusive Collection, you will witness an equally curious and dramatic event that actually took place on October 27, 1739. During a par force hunt near the Clemenswerth hunting lodge, the pack of hounds belonging to Elector Clemens August of Cologne had driven a stag onto the roof of a sheepfold, where it remained for a while until the piqueurs of the hunting-mad ruler shot it. Clemens August wanted this scene as a fully sculpted figure on a hand-painted porcelain hunting trophy. Johann Joachim Kaendler realized this work of art as requested. The Saxon Elector Friedrich August II, who was no less obsessed with hunting, was so impressed by the sculpture that he also ordered a similar figure. Impressively hand-painted, the sculpture artwork from the exclusive collection will not only enchant hunting enthusiasts. You also have the exclusive opportunity to purchase this impressive figure, this incomparable work of art, richly hand-painted in detail.
