description
The "Monkey musician rhesus monkey as violinist" is the embodiment of centuries-old craftsmanship from the Meissen porcelain manufactory and is part of a limited, nine-part series of hand-painted monkeys. Created by Otto Pilz in 1908, his figures are a remarkable reinterpretation of the "Monkey Chapel" from 1753 by Johann Joachim Kaendler, probably the most famous master of this craft. In contrast to Kaendler's monkeys, Pilz's hand-painted sculptures have a more personal touch. The "Monkey musician rhesus monkey as violinist" stands out with its colorful costume and elegant posture. He plays his violin with dedication like a master. The "Monkey musician rhesus monkey as violinist" figurine is limited to 25 pieces. Design year 2013.
