Single Figurine Frog, Leaves of Water lilies

August the Strong was a passionate collector. He was just as fond of animals as he was of luxurious porcelain. In addition to large-format masterpieces made of MEISSEN^® porcelain, natural or hand-painted, Kaendler's workshop also produced a large number of small-format animal figures. Foxes and squirrels, for example, inspired detailed depictions, as did the little frog, whose figure was created in 1742.

So far we know the frog in an enormously realistic as well as detailed representation. In 2021 Thomas Lohse has breathed new life into the amiable pond dweller. Hand-painted with typical water elements, such as green leaves with red water lilies, the 3 cm high figure "Frog, lily pads" enchants in a new guise with golden accents.
