Limited & hand-painted - a fighting fish as wall decoration

The ""Red Betta fighting fish"" wall plate by MEISSEN artist Andrea Mauersberger is part of a limited edition 2021. The artwork is hand-painted and one of four in the new maritime wall plate series.

Fish painting has a long tradition in the manufactory. Even the palace halls of Augustus the Strong were adorned with artistic wall decorations made of porcelain and decorations of native and exotic flora and fauna. All four wall plate motifs were hand-painted on the ""MEISSEN^® Cosmopolitan"" form in several layers using high-quality overglaze painting. The rich palette of Meissen onglaze colors gives the motifs their special plasticity and liveliness. The inglaze color used in this work of art provides particularly bright, intense red accents. Absolute perfection is required here, as corrections are no longer possible afterwards.
