MEISSEN^® artists like to use Böttger Stoneware^® in their work, the material that Johann Friedrich Böttger invented in 1707 before white porcelain and which the manufactory director Max Adolf Pfeiffer had produced again in 1919 according to the original recipes. Erich Hösel created the "Riding Camel" figurine in 1931. His travels abroad, made possible by art scholarships, had taken him to the Middle East, among other places, where he received important inspiration for his artistic work.
