This limited edition goblet, an artisan jewel from around 1720, clearly bears the hallmarks of early 18th century silversmithing. The decoration of the work of art shows lush floral painting in the "Indian" style, a direction that had emerged at the same time and was inspired by the floral motifs of Chinese porcelains. Flowers and insects, hand-painted in various copper colors, visually grow out of the gilded relief leaves of the goblet. Between meadow flowers, coneflowers and some fantasy flowers we see butterflies, small beetles as well as small snails hidden.
