Limited Masterworks 2020 Dish with "Hummingbirds and Orchids"

With the hand-painted and limited edition bowl "Hummingbird and Orchids" porcelain painter Victoria Schmidt provides a glimpse into the lush, tropical vegetation of South America. Since then, European artists have been inspired by their travels to faraway lands for this or that work of art. The masterfully decorated bowl is limited to 25 pieces and features violet-eared hummingbirds found on Andean slopes from Venezuela to Argentina. The motif's coloration, punctuated by gold threads, lends this work of art a noble opulence. The radiant green base was inspired by an emerald dealer in the coastal city of Cartagena and is now part of the rich treasure trove of the manufactory's own color laboratory. Vivid hues hand-painted enliven the beautiful blossoms, which in their refined presentation almost send a sweet nectar scent to the viewer. The shape of the octagonal bowl dates back as early as 1833 and contrasts with the hand-painted naturalistic design of the motif. The limited edition artwork is a wonderful addition to the Meissen Masterpieces 2020.
