Single Figurine Pair of Cats

Hösel's figure "Group of Cats" was created in 1917 and shows a cat cuddling cuddly with another small cat. The experienced modeller used the economy of form to depict intimate animal love in a particularly convincing way. The fine staffage, lovingly hand-painted, gives the figure a special liveliness. Erich Hösel, 1912-1929 head of design at the manufactory, had a penchant for realistic, conventionally held animal sculptures, some of which have become an integral part of our figurine assortment. Whether in cooper stoneware or lifelike hand-painted: The animal models of the academically trained sculptor are characterized by an unobtrusively traditional design style, in which attention to detail is at the service of the lively overall appearance.
