The figure "Horse", hand-painted and limited, by MEISSEN® sculptor Max Esser from the 1920s shows a tired, settled pony with a massive body and relatively short legs. Tensely it raises its head, looks around and puffs its nostrils in annoyance. The figure is based on an epic poem by Goethe, in which a small horse full of self-confidence challenges a stag to a race. Unfortunately, his overconfidence is his undoing and he collapses exhausted. For the 2017 Limited Masterpieces Edition, the figure has been reissued with a gold-rimmed base, hand-painted. Limited to 25 pieces.
