The candlesticks of the holy light - Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar, hand-painted and exclusive to MEISSEN. With this original interpretation of the famous episode from the Christmas story, MEISSEN proved at the beginning of the 20th century that there need be no contradiction between the modern Art Nouveau form and a sacred motif. As an authentic piece of MEISSEN craftsmanship, the Christmas decoration was exclusively designed, produced and hand-painted in harmony with history and modern aesthetics. The elongated bust of the Oriental king appears devout, sublime, in meditative contemplation. Four candles can be lit on the gilded brass tops of the Christmas decoration, which elegantly emerge from the crown of Melchior's hand-painted figure.
