description
With the "Monkey Musician Orangutan with Tuba", MEISSEN Arts and Crafts takes a slightly more humorous approach. After the famous master of arts and crafts, Johann Joachim Kaendler, created his "Monkey Chapel" in 1753, this hand-painted figure is part of a limited nine-part renaissance of monkeys by Otto Pilz. He created his remarkable "Monkey Musicians" in 1903, and unlike Kaendler, he gave his monkeys more characteristic and individual features. The "Ape Musician Orangutan with Tuba", for example, stands out due to its casual pose. No instrument suits him better than the tuba. He blows into the instrument with great concentration. The figure is limited to 25 pieces, hand-painted and unique.
