The French sculptor modeled the gardener sculpture in 1777 after models of the Saxon painter Johann Eleazar Zeissig. Hand-painted, with colorful clothes, hat and lovely flower garland, the boy walks through nature. The filigree sophistication testifies to incomparable craftsmanship.
