Limited Masterworks 2014 Potpourri Vessel Applied Flowers

The "Limited Masterpieces" of 2014 contain some of MEISSEN's most beautiful and sophisticated porcelain work. In the "Potpourri vessel with floral covering", the highest art of bossing and the finest porcelain painting complement each other in the form of a sugar shaker. The hand-painted work of art from 1730 was inspired by paintings by Maria Sibylla Merian. Individual insects and leaves are set off from the white porcelain by the finest bossier art. Naturalistic decorations such as insects were in vogue on coffee and tea services in the mid-18th century. Eye-catcher of the vessel is the lid set in gold. Rims and top, hand-painted with 23-karat gold, give the precious work of art the appropriate frame. Limited to 75 pieces.
