Limited Masterworks 2021 Vase, Humming Birds

The shape of the 38.5 cm high vase "Hummingbirds" goes back to a model of Ludwig Zepner from the mid-1960s. Meissen porcelain painter Ulrich Mehner finally created the imaginative motif on this Limited Edition work of art based on a design by Otto Eduard Voigt (1870-19). Flower tendrils, hummingbirds as well as parrots are hand-painted in the famous Meissen cobalt blue on the vase "Kolibris". Painting with these so-called metal oxide colors requires the highest artistic skill from the porcelain painters, as the color is painted onto the still raw porcelain and only develops its radiance after firing - corrections are then no longer possible. Despite the highest compositional challenge, MEISSEN succeeds time and again in giving such works of art a unique expression with only one color.

As a result, such limited edition masterpieces fit perfectly into almost any sophisticated interior design.
