Limited Masterworks 2019 Scent-Bottle with Snowball Blossom

For the limited new edition, a flacon was decorated for the first time with countless hand-painted snowball blossoms. The filigree porcelain blossoms in the smallest of spaces are an expression of Johann Joachim Kaendler's extraordinary genius and were created in 1739 at the behest of King August III for his wife Maria Josepha of Austria. To this day, each individual blossom is garnished by hand in the finest craftsmanship on the object and then hand-painted. The wine that runs through the sea of blossoms, as well as the birds perched on top, add another natural dimension to the object. The sophistication of the decoration is testament to the remarkable skill in Meissen craftsmanship. Available in limited edition, this hand-painted decorated flacon with a height of 40 centimeters is considered a truly enchanting feast for the eyes. Overflowing with the delicate snowball blossoms, the flacon loses its mundanity and thus Kaendler's craftsmanship still shines today as a historically significant milestone in Meissen's first heyday - in limited available edition.
