Do it yourself - The MEISSEN Advent wreath 2024
#joyfulanticipation
  • In many parts of the world, the Christmas season is a time of waiting, anticipation and contemplation. One of the best-known traditions that characterizes this special time is the Advent wreath. It has been a fixture in German homes since the 19th century and symbolizes the four weeks of Advent before Christmas. However, the Advent wreath is also celebrated in many other countries today. While the classic form of the Advent wreath is still widespread, today there are numerous creative interpretations of this festive symbol.

A particularly stylish way to decorate the Advent wreath is to integrate exclusive porcelain. This year, our MEISSEN Advent wreath is adorned with small espresso cups made of Meissen porcelain. These miniature works of art are a real highlight and give the traditional wreath a modern and elegant touch. They are a wonderful alternative to conventional candle holders. Simply place a candle in each cup and you have a stylish combination of candles and porcelain art. Stick candles in particular fit well in the cups and create a harmonious play of light. We hope you enjoy making your own and wish you a peaceful Advent season with your loved ones!

“Advent is when a light illuminates the world on long dark nights.”

  • Required materials:

    2 Floral foam bricks
Knife for cutting the Floral Foam
4 MEISSEN “Berlin“ espresso cups with saucers
    4 stick candles
Wax discs for attaching the candles
Decorative materials: fir greenery, fresh flowers
Delicate wooden sticks, ivy needles and stickers for attaching

    Instructions:

    1. the preparation of the Floral Foam:
Carefully cut the foam bricks into four blocks of different heights. Then soak them in cold, clear water so that they are well saturated. Place the foam blocks close together to create an attractive interplay of heights. For stability, use delicate wooden sticks as supports to give the blocks a tight hold.

    2. the arrangement of the espresso cups:
Place one "Berlin" espresso cup with saucer on each block of Floral Foam. Place the wax plates in the espresso cups and carefully insert the stick candles into the cup so that they stand firmly and straight.

    3. the festive decoration:
Arrange the open areas of the Floral Foam with delicate fir branches and fragrant cut greenery for a festive sparkle. Add fresh flowers for floral splendor - decorate the green amaranthus, the red Christmas roses, the lush hydrangea blossom and the charming cones at an angle. Carefully secure everything with ivy needles or sticks.

    4. the crowning finale:
Check that all the candles are secure and stable in their elegance. Finally, crown your Christmas arrangement with small decorative MEISSEN figurines that will give your Advent wreath that special magic for a magical Christmas.
